This has quickly become my undisputed go-to cigar for starting the day right, and here's my full, honest review based on consistent smokes over the past few months.

Pre-light draw is spot-on: easy but with just enough resistance to promise good flavor delivery. Cold draw brings hints of earth, leather, and a faint peppery spice—like fresh soil after rain mixed with cocoa. Construction is flawless; even burn from the start, solid ash that holds for inches, and no tunneling or canoeing in my experiences.

Flavor Profile & Progression  

This is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke that's perfectly tuned for mornings—bold and layered without being overwhelming, evolving steadily over about 45-60 minutes.  

- First Third: Starts with a punch of spicy pepper and earthy leather, balanced by underlying roasted coffee and subtle cocoa. It's confident right out of the gate, with a warm, inviting complexity that wakes up the palate.  

- Second Third: Builds in intensity with more earth and leather dominating, while the pepper mellows into a background zing. Roasted coffee notes deepen, mingling with hints of dark chocolate and a touch of sweetness for added depth.  

- Final Third: Finishes strong yet smooth with lingering earth, leather, and cocoa, rounded out by a warm, satisfying finish. No harshness—just a clean, flavorful close that leaves you energized.

Strength ramps up gradually: medium at first, building without a heavy nicotine hit that would clash with your morning caffeine.

Pairing with Coffee

   This is where it shines for me. Seattle mornings call for strong, dark-roast drip or a bold espresso, and the Mastermind Habano's roasted coffee and cocoa notes blend seamlessly with the brew's richness. The earthy leather cuts through any bitterness, while the subtle spice enhances the coffee's depth—creating a symphony rather than a competition. I've tried it with everything from black  to milky lattes, and it elevates the experience. If you're into dark roasts (my usual), it's an absolute match made in heaven.
