Garuda Majesty Magnum Review

   This Indonesian “Limitada” Magnum arrives elegantly dressed in gold with the classic Garuda branding. The dark, oily Havana wrapper shows a few veins but feels smooth and well-applied. The cigar is firm with just a hint of give—good density for a 58-ring gauge. Pre-light aroma is earthy with a clear woody backbone and a subtle sweetness.

   Cold draw is easy and open, delivering creamy notes mixed with light nuttiness and a surprising hit of leather right from the start.

First third

   Lights cleanly. The opening is creamy and mild, exactly as the band promises, but the leather note is already prominent—think well-worn saddle leather with a soft, polished quality. Nutty undertones (light almond and walnut) ride underneath, while a gentle woody foundation keeps everything grounded. Smoke production is generous and the draw is effortless. Strength sits in the medium range at this point.

Second third

   The creaminess fades a bit and the profile shifts. Leather becomes the dominant player—very leather-forward, rich and almost savory. The nutty character deepens and the woody notes turn drier and more cedar-like. A touch of earth and a faint sweetness linger in the background. Burn stays mostly even with only minor corrections needed. Ash holds firm in a solid grey-white stack. Body and strength climb into true medium-full territory.

Final third

   Leather remains the star, now joined by stronger woody and slightly bitter earth tones. The nutty sweetness mostly disappears, leaving a drier, more robust finish. Intensity peaks here without becoming harsh. The cigar stays cool to the touch until the last inch or so.

Overall

   Construction is solid for a boutique Indonesian stick. Burn and draw performed well throughout the roughly 75–85 minute smoke. Flavor-wise it follows the stated progression (creamy → nutty → woody) but the leather presence is much stronger than the packaging suggests—this is a distinctly leather-forward cigar from start to finish.

It’s not the most complex smoke you’ll ever have, but it delivers a consistent, satisfying medium-full experience with a clear personality. Pair it with a medium-bodied coffee or a lightly aged rum. It’s a solid everyday or after-dinner option if you enjoy leather-driven profiles.
