Vengeance Cigar Review
Wolfpack Cigar Club first release with Casa Caraballo
Ecuadorian maduro wrapper, Sumatra binder, and filler from Condega, Jalapa, and Estelí. After several of these, the flavor and construction stay consistent from stick to stick.
Cold draw
Easy and slightly sweet. Cocoa and earth show first, with a hint of leather and cedar behind them. No tightness, no harshness, just a clean preview of what is coming.
First third
Lights evenly and settles quickly. Cocoa and leather lead. Cedar sits right behind them, with toasted nuts starting to come through. Cream keeps the smoke smooth. Light spice is present but restrained. Sweet earth is there as a quiet base. Strength is medium. The ash begins stacking firm and even from the start.
Second third
The profile opens up without jumping. Cocoa and leather stay in front, but toasted nuts and cream become more noticeable. Cedar remains steady. Light spice builds a little on the retrohale. Sweet earth grows richer. The smoke stays cool and plentiful. Construction holds: even burn, open but controlled draw, and that same firm ash column that does not flake early.
Final third
The cigar leans a bit earthier and spicier, but it does not turn bitter or hot. Cocoa and leather are still there. Toasted nuts and cream keep it from drying out. Cedar and sweet earth finish the smoke. Light spice is more present on the finish, still in balance. Strength stays in the medium to medium-plus range. The ash continues to hold for most of the cigar before it finally drops.
This is a composed maduro, not a loud one. Cocoa, leather, cedar, toasted nuts, cream, light spice, and sweet earth stay in conversation from the cold draw through the nub. Construction is the other reason it works: impeccable roll, even burn, and a beautiful ash stack that stays firm for the majority of the smoke.
After several, it is an easy cigar to recommend and an easy one to smoke again. It rewards a slower pace, pairs well with coffee or a dark spirit, and never asks you to fight the burn or hunt for flavor. For a first club release, that is exactly what you want: a cigar you finish, remember, and reach for the next time without hesitation.
